"There are brilliant ideas, expressed everyday in public discussions and events, all over the world.
Don't miss them." this is how Fora.tv presents itself to the outside world - still in Beta but a good idea and a fresh relief from the overload of visual trash that saturates our minds daily.
fora.tv delivers discourse, discussions and debates on the world's most interesting political, social and cultural issues, and enables viewers to join the conversation if they dare! Read more!

Your Point of View

HSBC’s yourpointofview campaign has been running globally for over a year now, drawing the public’s attention to everything from tiny tots at beauty pageants to the treatment of the elderly. Now, to boost their online discussion forum, the banking giant has teamed up with JWT London to produce a flashy Hollywood-esque film based on popular video game Grand Theft Auto. Good work. Food for thought

There is a short passage from a book I read a while ago by Jon Steel called ‘Truth. Lies & Advertising’ that I thought I'd post - it’s actually a quoted passage from a the book by Norman MacLean ‘ The River Runs Through It’, it goes like this:

He said, “They are feeding on drowned yellow stone flies.”
I asked him, “How did you think that out?”
He thought back on what had happened like a reporter;
He started to answer, shook his head when he found he was wrong, and then started out again. “All there is to thinking,” he said, “is seeing something noticeable which makes you see something you weren’t noticing which makes you see something that isn’t even visible”.
I said to my brother.” Give me a cigarette and say what you mean”. Read more!

Showtime

Monday 9 April 2007

So it's started...'it's' being this, my thoughts.
I'll be tapping away exposing my inner most sanctum, things that are appealing to me in this grand old world of ours - alsorts of delights whether it be interactive proactive inactive, pictures, stills - photography of mine, grafitti on walls, news interpretation, that cool range of clothes by Paul & Joe, what's cooking at the ICA, Onedotzero, Resfest, fresh work, music to check, interesting art, interesting2007, new work in adland, unconventional, conventional name it what you like, observations..."does that ad work, what's it trying to say" kinda stuff- just every day bits & pieces that make me tick, what I'm reading, should read, have read, movies that pulled at my heart, changed perceptions, exposed me - I'll be posting all up here in some shape or form.
May take a little time to get up to speed with all the amalgamation aspects of blog life, tags, links, images and whatnot but should be rockin' and rolling in no time. Read more!
